Stairs accessible to the general public require surfacing that meets a high standard of anti-slip in order to guarantee public safety.
Once the metal stair case was renovated by our trusted installers, Waux VulcaGR!P® GRP Anti-Slip Stair Tread Covers were installed.
All VulcaGR!P® Treads and Landing Covers were cut to size, pre-drilled and supplied with necessary fixings and adhesive.

Public Sector
Southbank is a popular area of London that receives approximately 30 million visitors per annum.
It is therefore imperative that members of the public are provided with safe access points. A set of stairs leading down to the main footpath next to the Thames were in poor condition, as the steel treads had rusted, and the surface was very slippery.
The client decided to invest in improving the asset and awarded the renovation of the stairs to the contractor, with whom Waux worked closely with to visit site and complete a survey. This ensured our accuracy of cutting prior to installation.
Once the metalwork of the stairs was shot-blasted, VulcaGR!P stair treads and landings were supplied; cut to size, pre-drilled and delivered with all fixings and adhesive for convenience.
These were then installed to provide a long-lasting anti-slip solution. Salt proof silicone and adhesive was used to prevent water from entering under the tread covers and causing the metal to rust again.
This method will increase the longevity of the structure which is important for stairs within the public sector.
