Royston Station
A new build pedestrian footbridge connecting the two platforms at Royston Station required an anti-slip surface.
An AfA Footbridge package was installed, including Waux VulcaGR!P® GRP Anti-Slip Stair Treads, Landing & Overbridge Covers.
All VulcaGR!P® GRP Treads and Landing Covers were cut to size, pre-drilled and supplied with necessary fixings and adhesive.

Rail Passengerside
In Spring 2020, the pedestrian footbridge at Royston Station was closed, after structural issues were discovered. For several years, passengers have been using Old North Road in order to access the opposite platform.
In March 2022, Network Rail made the decision to invest in a new accessible footbridge to help commuters switch platforms more easily.
The specification for the new £3.5m footbridge included anti-slip surfacing as per usual AfA guidelines, and Waux were awarded the contract for the supply of our VulcaGR!P products, renowned for its hard-wearing quality and superior anti-slip surface in wet conditions.
All products were cut to size, pre-drilled and supplied with adhesive and fixings for quick and convenient installation on site.
Waux kept close contact with our client, dispatching further orders within short timeframes. This service helped to keep the project on track even when there were difficult complications.
Further works to install lifts for step-free access is due to be completed in early 2024, but the opening of the bridge has been a welcome improvement for passengers.
