As a station in the heart of the city’s tourist attractions, the station needed something that shouted unique but with properties that provided safety and durability.

Waux ASTEP was chosen, and the London House design was specifically manufactured for our client. ASTEP London House is a cast nickel bronze tread with silica grit cast into the matrix of the metal. This holds firm in the most congested environments with nickel bronze being one of the hardest wearing metals for passenger foot traffic. The unique design is called London house – a design that offers this a state of art finish, with near complete vision stringer to stringer, the eye candy of every architect.

With Tower Hill taking up to 21 million passengers per year, our cast range is designed to withstand the harsh environments of heavy foot traffic and meets the vision requirements as requested by London Underground (LUL).
