Salisbury Hospital
Access was required from a raised doorway onto the roof of Salisbury Hospital.
Waux worked with main contractors BAM Construct to design a raised platform with both stair access and ramped access for the rooftop machinery to be wheeled onto.
Waux fabrication team manufactured the structure, including a modification and extension to the ramp to avoid the cable trays.

Salisbury, Wiltshire
Roof Access
Construction of a new ward has just been completed at Salisbury District Hospital, delivered by main contractors BAM Nuttall.
Waux was approached to advise on an access solution for a complex roof structure with multiple flat roofs and different levels.
Roof servicing and maintenance personnel would require access onto the flat roof where the PV panels were located, and machinery would also need to be wheeled onto the main roof area.
A site survey was completed to ensure accuracy of build, then taken back to the design team, who proposed a structure with a landing, ramp and adjoining stairs. Waux worked with the client to provide detailed CAD drawings, which were approved prior to fabrication.
Later on in the project, changes and modifications were required to avoid a clash with revised cable tray layout. Waux adjusted the configuration to extend the ramp and change its direction, delivering within a quick timeframe to enable project handover.
