Project Highlights – 2023

As we come to the end of 2023, join us as we look back with a summary of our most exciting projects and achievements throughout the year!

January

 

Westbourne Park

To start off the year, a 215m long run of Waux GRP Mesh Boundary Fencing was installed at Westbourne Park.

February

 

Barnsley Market Gate Footbridge

In February, Waux was awarded the contract to supply OxClaw Stair Nosings at Barnsley Market Gate Footbridge, drone footage can be viewed here.

March

 

Cambridge Resignalling Scheme

Images were received of the works at Cambridge, in which Waux are working closely with the client, and is scheduled to run until the end of 2024.

April

 

Mytchett Place

During April, the structural GRP stairs and balustrades were installed at Mytchett Place, having been previously set up and fabricated at our workshop in Surrey.

May

 

Rugby Road

Replacement GRP access stairs were installed on Rugby Road during May, taking Network Rail only 4 hours thanks to the prefabrication completed by Waux.

June

 

Heathside School

Waux support main contractors Bam Construct with our GRP riser flooring and roof access package for stepovers, access stairs and small hopovers on Heathside School.

July

 

Ryde Pier

Remediation works on the historic Ryde Pier came to a close during July. Waux were pleased to have played a part in this iconic project by providing bespoke curved GRP track walkways.

August

 

Buckthorne Crossing

Waux GridEX 19mm Solid Top Grating was used by Network Rail as a track crossing as an alternative to timber core boards.

September

 

Minet School

Handover of the Infant and Junior School phase took place in August, in which Waux assisted with roof access requirements. Case Study now live!

October

 

Black Rock Ramp

The new build ramp at Brighton was designed specifically for ZedSPAN Structural GRP Deck Planks. Read the Case Study here!

November

 

East Sussex Walking Routes

Throughout the year, Waux have been supporting East Sussex County Council with bridge upgrades to improve walking routes. The final bridge was completed in November and is the first bridge to use Waux Hidden Fixing Covers.
